Men's skin care once meant slapping on some aftershave.
What are the best anti wrinkle products for men?
The man who dared ask that question out loud would have been laughed at, not long ago. Men somehow convinced themselves that wrinkles and creases in their faces were macho, all part of being a man's man.
Most men have grown up a bit. They know they can use some help with anti wrinkle products, especially since many men have neglected their skin. They want to look youthful and healthy, and face it, guys: wrinkles and age spots don't send either message. Wrinkles are not manly.
Once you acknowledge that men's skin care is important, you naturally want to find the best anti wrinkle products for men. Here are just a few facts about men's skin care and the ingredients that really help.
First, men's skin is particularly prone to inflammation and redness.
Some of that inflammation may be due to the subtle genetic differences between men and women. Much of it is probably due to different behavior: most men shave every day, and they tend to be careless about sunburn, windburn, and letting their skin dry out.
Even where redness isn't obvious, signs of aging often are -- like dark spots and bags under the eyes, facial wrinkles and color variations in the skin. These are signs of hidden inflammation.
It is not easy to get this under control, but it's possible. One thing a good men's skin care product must do is halt inflammation. To say it more technically: it must reduce production of Prostaglandin E2 in the body: this is the major biochemical pathway leading to inflammation in the skin.
So look for a men's skin care product that promises to block PGE2 production -- and tells you exactly what ingredients will do the job.
One word of advice on allowing yourself to get sunburned:
Don't!
Sunburn, especially severe sunburn, is inflammation by definition. (Why do you think the skin turns red?)
Besides the wrinkles that develop, severe sunburn is linked to melanoma, a rare type of skin cancer but by far the largest cause of skin cancer deaths.
For those who ignore this advice and get sunburned anyway, there are a couple of ingredients that will specifically help with inflammation due to sunburn:
-- D-Panthenol (vitamin B5) helps repair skin tissue and acts as a natural moisturizer. It also protects the skin naturally against sunburn, provides relief for existing sunburn, and enhances the natural tanning process.
-- Witch hazel, a long-famous natural skin care ingredient, is helpful with sunburn, reducing inflammation and redness. Witch hazel is a natural antioxidant and astringent. It's effective in helping many skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema, and cracked or blistered skin. Witch hazel is also traditionally used as a good first aid for shaving cuts and abrasions for men.

QUESTION:
Anti-Aging products and Acne prone skin (for men)?
I am a 28-year-old asian guy who enjoyed acne-free beautiful skin when I was in my early teens 'til age 26. It all went downhill from there. Acne attacked my skin and now I look 'ugh'. Fortunately, with help from dermatologists my battles with it has stabilized though I still have acne scars and occassional acne on my oily skin. I'm getting older and I know by age 30 men should start using anti-aging products to combat skin aging.
The problem is dermatologists forbid me from using any moisturizers (even those that are high-quality) and limits me with a facial wash and toner only (completely skipping 'step 3' of skin care). I admit it has done help, my acne problems have stabilized. But I'm worried about my skin not getting any anti-aging treatments and it's showing signs already. This is quite a problem for me because all anti-aging products are all in moisturizer form (milk, gel, cream, mask, and emulsions) - all things which I can't use because my skin reacts to them negatively.-

Try pro-activ

QUESTION:
which men anti-aging skin care product is the best?-
ANSWER:
I learned through a series of mishaps and severe reactions to skin care products, even to what I thought was a good-quality/high-end, "natural" facial product, that what's in a product can help or harm skin.
A dermatologist recommended I use the cleanest (i.e. most chemical-free) products I could find. Doing that cleared up the severe reaction and my continued use of "clean" products has resulted in great looking and feeling skin. The best treatments for any age or type skin are gentle ones that are effective. Chemicals are not gentle or effective. In fact, research is showing that a buildup of chemicals on the skin can cause acne, dryness (which leads to prematurely aging skin) and skin cancer.
The best products are those with the highest quality ingredients, not the highest price. With so many manufacturers using chemicals in their products, almost any product - cleansers, moisturizers, shampoos, shaving creams, conditioners, hair gels, sunscreens and makeup - can be causing breakouts on your face and body.
Here's a page that shows what to look for in organic products as well as ingredients to avoid in skin and hair care products. http://www.best-mens-skin-care.com/organic-skin-care.html />To find chemical-free products, read labels and research ingredients - or start with certified organic ingredients which don't contain harmful chemicals.

QUESTION:
what's up with all these new moisturizing/anti-aging/anti-wrinkle face-skin-caring products for men?
I recently started shaving again after a year of only trimming and went off to boots to get me an after shave. To my surprise the men's section was full of all these new men face skin caring products. There were probably about 10 brands some of which are well known for their female skin-caring products. Each brand had 5 or more different products. I got dizzy just at trying to figure out what each one was doing.
What happened and all of the sudden all of these appear out of nowhere? Do men really need these?
-
ANSWER:
men, and women don't need these either! they are merely to make money for the companies that make them, and nothing more.

QUESTION:
Men's skin care, what more can I do?
Hi, usually I use Loreal Men expert products, the exfoliating scrub, another loreal wash, then a loreal anti-fatigue moisturiser. I usually just wash once in the morning and not normally at night but my skin is a lot better since I've been using these products. Still I was wondering if there's anything I could use to improve my skin even more and make it more soft? I am young so I am not really thinking about using anti age creams.-
ANSWER:
Maybe you could use a serum as well. It is a moisturizing products that can be applied before the moisturizing cream in order to penetrate the lower layers of skin (hypo dermis).
I don't know any good brand for this but I'm sure you'll get help if you go to the appropriate store.

QUESTION:
Created a skin care product - don't have millions for advertising?
I created a two product skin care system that addresses the anti-aging, anti-wrinkle issues women and men face. Granted there are dozens of products on the market - backed by millions in advertising, selling out there claiming they work. But I have found they rarely do as advertised, which is why I created this skin system. It DOEs do as advertised, quite effectlive, using all natural, holistic ingredients. I've seen it shed 20 years off the face of a 67 year old man that spend most his days in the elements.
My problem is marketing and education. I don't have tons of money to do a massive national TV/Radio/Newsprint campaign.
I'd like any suggestions, thoughts, etc on ways I can guerrilla market my products.
For list of ingredients - just go to www.GenesisIntro.com, scroll to bottom.
I have created business cards (using precut cards from WalMart - printing off computer (laser color), which looks more professional than Vista Print, and I have been printing and distributing flyers, brochures, even have setup at a flea market.Just trying to find a way to reach a larger audience.

This might sound stupid but creating an account on myspace can give your product exposure without costing you a dime. Show proof pics of what your product does to visually satisfy potential customers. Hopefully you can work your way up from there.

QUESTION:
Is this good for male skin?
So for those of you who watched "American Psycho", do these sound like good skin care products to replace the ones used by Patrick Bateman in the movie?deep pore cleanser lotion (Sothys Desquacreme Deep Pore Cleanser)
water activated gel cleanser (Trilogy Balancing Gel Cleanser)
honey almond body scrub (Tree Hut Body Scrub, Almond Honey)
exfoliating gel scrub (Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel)
herb-mint facial mask (Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque)
after shave lotion with little or no alcohol (Neutrogena Men Razor Defense Post Shave Lotion)
moisturizer (Neutrogena Men Age Fighter Face Moisturizer)
anti-aging eye balm (Skinceuticals Eye Balm Rehabilitative Emollient For Aging Skin)
moisturizing protective lotion (Nivea for Men Protective Moisturizer)I don't need the anti-aging eye balm as I'm only 19. And can I still use an exfoliating towel in the shower if I go through all of those creams? I will be using these products every morning if I get them, is that a good idea?
Here is another list of items listed on this article that might be good, but I'm a college student and can't afford too much.
http://www.apetogentleman.com/products/p…
Thank you for all your help.
I gave you both thumbs up because you're both right in a way.
Yeah you're right dude in that I shouldn't worry about that stuff but at the same time if I can look my best without having to strain too hard, then why not?And thanks Evie for your advice. So you definitely agree that I should use that mask thing every single morning?
-
ANSWER:
Yes! Ahh such a good movie. I don't think you should 'man up a bit' at all.. When I go to kiss a guy or even look at him if he looks after himself and his skin it is much more appealing!I think you have the right idea and using all these products would definately help and make your skin great, and in the long run your skin will look healthier and younger.. However if you didn't have too much money I would go with a daily cleanser with no alcohol ( like the movie) so your skin doesn't dry out, and maybe an exfoliating scrub which I would only use once or twice a week, ontop f that once you have cleansed a moisturizer( concentrate on putting these around your eyes)..
But if you van afford the ones you stated than go for it, good luck and I hope I helped you!

QUESTION:
What kind of advertising would compel you to host a home-based party for Arbonne International?
Arbonne is a network marketing company that sells Swiss skincare products that are all botaniacally-based and all-natural. Our product lines include-
Anti-Aging, Sun Protection, Nutrition, Weight Loss, Baby Care, Men's Care, Hormone Balance, Cosmetics, Hair Care, and Aromatherapy. An Arbonne Party would last about one hour. The host would invite 5-10 people over who would then receive a foot spa bath and sample our products while learning how to take care of their skin.
-
ANSWER:
for me personally, nothing would. the fact that it's so expensive and everyone invited to the party knows the hostess (usually their friend) is hoping they buy something is not a position i like to be put in. i think though that advertising to them the discounts they will be entitled to and such would be a good idea though.

QUESTION:
what are the best anti aging creams?
i am 56 ,no real wrinkles, a line here and there, but face looks tired and starting to sag a little..My skin is sensitive, i have an occasional rosacea flareup. for the most part my "beauty" routine consists of rinsing face morning/night with cool water and sunblock. no makeup, nothing else. at night I use a moisturizer, no specific brand. I am a very busy, tired nurse who frequently works 60 hrs a week. Divorced for 5 years, and haven't had as much as a door held open for me by a man, I would really like to try to improve my appearance. I realized I don't even look into a mirror and want to look nice, for me. maybe have a life again! so, I want to know what I should be doing, I do eat a healthy diet and take vitamins, but what about skin care? also, make up? I am fair skinned, auburn hair (colored, as my hair is very dark). hazel eyes. I don't think I even own any make up or even lip stick!! HELP..bring me up to date , please!! I'm not cheap..but don't want to spend a horrendous amount on products. Thank you to all in advance for your help!!-

QUESTION:
Can general moisturizers be used on the face? (some)?
Lets say one like this, Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion
http://www.cetaphil.com/Products/Moistur...
I don't want to pay a lot of money for a little tub that comes with grandiose anti-aging claims (Estee Lauder et al). I have read a bit about the subject and have some experience, I understand some are lighter than others - hand creams being particularly thick. Am I right to presume if it's light and non-irritating (Cetaphil) then you can put it on your face? Unfortunately these more general moisturizers often don't specially tell you that they can/cannot be put on the face. Is there any specific criteria that makes a moisturizer appropriate for face use? Do you use generals on your face?
I am male but aren't a big fan of the male cosmetic lines as the main reason they exist is so stupid homophobic men can safely indulge in skin care without placing themselves in a product section which is predominantly the domain of ladies.-
ANSWER:
i use cetaphil on my face, and it works great.
